Checksums and signed downloads, explained

Why CodePacks publishes a SHA-256 checksum beside every file, and how short-lived signed links protect your purchases.

Published 14 July 2026Updated 14 July 20265 min read

Every file on CodePacks is stored privately and delivered through a short-lived signed link that is only issued after the server checks your entitlement.

What the checksum proves

If the hash of the file you received matches the published hash, the bytes are the bytes we published.

What the signed link does not do

A signed link is not proof of ownership and it expires. Ownership lives with your entitlement, not the URL.
